Book Consulting

Support or Consulting —
Which Do You Need?

Rule of thumb: a subscription keeps the open source you already run healthy and unblocks you when it breaks. Consulting is for building, changing, or migrating something new. Most teams start with a subscription and add consulting hours when a project comes up.

Your subscription covers

Ongoing, reactive support for your covered packages — open a ticket and a senior engineer works it within your plan's response target.

  • Production incidents & outages on a covered package
  • Bugs, crashes & unexpected behavior
  • Configuration, deployment & upgrade troubleshooting
  • Performance tuning guidance
  • Usage & "how do I…" questions on covered packages
  • CVE alerts on every plan; hands-on triage & patching on Professional+
  • Routine version & LTS patch updates
Hourly consulting covers

Scoped, planned project work we deliver — billed by the hour, no monthly plan required.

  • Architecture review & design
  • Proof-of-concept (PoC) builds
  • Major version migrations (e.g. v2 → v3)
  • New feature development & upstream contributions
  • On-site engagements & workshops
  • Anything scoped & delivered as a project

What's Included in Every Plan

No matter which tier you choose, these fundamentals are always covered.

Clear Response Targets

Every ticket has a response target tied to your plan, so you always know when to expect us — Starter next business day, Professional same business day.

Senior Engineer Access

You reach engineers who work on OSS packages daily — not a tier-one helpdesk reading from a script.

Security Patch Notifications

Get alerted to CVEs and critical patches before they appear in public vulnerability databases.

No Long-Term Lock-In

Month-to-month contracts as standard. Scale up, scale down, or cancel any time without penalty.

500+ Packages in Our Catalog

Our catalog lists 500+ of the most widely-used OSS packages we can cover on request — you choose the ones you want under your plan.

Long-Term Support Versions

Stay on a stable, supported release with backported security and bug fixes — on every plan, even after the upstream project moves on.

Common Questions

A supported package is any open source library, framework, or runtime you rely on in production. Each unique package — e.g. PostgreSQL, Apache Kafka, or React — counts as one. Multiple versions of the same package do not count separately.

If it's keeping a package you already run working — a bug, a production incident, a security patch, a routine version or LTS update, or a configuration/upgrade problem — it's covered by your subscription. Project work that we scope and deliver — a major version migration, a new feature, an architecture review, or a proof-of-concept — is billed as hourly consulting.

Not sure where something falls? Ask our engineer. We'll always tell you before any billable consulting work starts — there are no surprise charges.

Yes. All plans are month-to-month by default. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time with 30 days' notice. There are no termination fees.

Yes — committing to an annual contract saves up to 20% compared to the monthly rate. Contact us and we'll put together a custom quote.

We invoice monthly (or annually) via ACH, SEPA, or wire transfer. Major credit cards are accepted on Starter and Professional plans. Enterprise customers can be invoiced under a custom MSA.

Most teams are fully onboarded within 3–5 business days. We schedule a kickoff call, confirm your package list, set up ticketing access, and assign your engineer — all before your first bill.

No. Pricing is based on the number of open source packages you want covered, not the size of your engineering team. A 5,000-person organisation covering 20 packages pays the same rate as a 50-person startup with the same stack. This means costs stay predictable as you hire, and there's no penalty for growing your team.

For large organisations with multiple product teams, business units, or subsidiaries, our Enterprise tier offers custom packaging — including org-wide agreements that cover all teams under a single contract. Talk to us about the right structure for your organisation.

Our catalog currently covers 500+ packages and grows continuously. If you need a package we don't yet list, contact us — we'll assess it and, in most cases, can add it within one to two weeks.
